The dedicated wine connoisseur and enthusiast, honoured with the award “Austria's Sommelier of the year 2007” (Bertelsmann publishing house), manages our hotel’s wine collection. He always brings along the best wines from his frequent wine tours.
In our restaurants, Karl assists our guests when it comes to choosing the right wine matching Günter Lampert’s delicacies. More than 200 wines are stored in our wine cellar – including many Austrian wines, but also international specialities.
Interested guests have the opportunity to participate in our weekly wine dégustations, led by Master Sommelier Karl Rotheneder.
As Mr. Rotheneder is not only a wine expert, but also a dedicated storyteller, his dégustations always turn into entertaining and convivial events. Participants listen to exciting stories and gain informative insights into the world of wine.

Each wine club member has the opportunity to create his or her own red wine cuvée. The best wines are scored and awarded at dégustation events and included in our wine edition.
